Thank You from France

Christelle, who participated in our first swap, would like to share the following message and pictures of her hexie project:
"I really thank you all my new American friends who sent my these hexies. I am going to make a rainbow round quilt whith all of these. It will take me a lot of time but I will do it!
Thank you so much and best wishes from France!"

Update on Jessica's Project

Jessica, our friend at Paper Pieces, shares her swap project:

"Hope the swaps are going well! I started making my quilt using my swap hexagons, thought you might want to see the progress. It’s not ONLY hexies form the swap, I used some mini charm packs too. I’m calling it “Roy’s Garden” .. as in ROY G. BIV."

What a novel way to lay out your hexies by color groups! LOVE it and thanks for sharing!

Does anyone else want to share their works in progress?

Kathleens Fabric Giveaway

When cutting fabrics for more hexies, I had on the TV show, "Horders". It really hit home. No, I don't have a ton of pizza boxes in every room (I wish! :)), but need to do a major declutter of fabrics. When you have so many boxes of fabric above and beyond what is already in your cabinets, it's time for a change!

So, I have been purging. And if you are interested, I will have USPS flat rate boxes of mixtures of FQ's, yardage and larger scraps. All you do is pay for the postage! The medium box is $12.35 and large is $16.85. This offer is good until I am completely cleaned out! Just email me at 2013hexagonswap@gmail.com with your name and mailing address and the size of box(s) you want. If you need my address, just ask!

So, let's get back to work!

ANY packages that arrive after that date will not be swapped out and returned back to you. Consider this your "gentle" reminder! :D

For The Love of Quilting...

Katznquilter shares this amazing story with the group...

"Hi Kathleen.  I have been in Florida visiting family the last two weeks and, of course, I had to visit the local quilt shop.  After chatting with the owner about my love of all things hexagon, she asked me to follow her to the back of the shop.  She then proceeded to take something off the top shelf of a bookcase.  She handed it to me and said "You take this.  I want you to have it.  I know you will take care of it."  The shop owner had received it from an elderly lady who was concerned that her children would "throw it out" when she passed away.  The shop owner did not recall the maker's name but remembered she had possession of the quilt for about 10 years and never had time to finish it.

So now I am the very proud and excited owner of this exquisite hand-pieced Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt.  I intend to finish it and share it will all that will see it.  I think that will make the creator of this piece very happy, wherever she is."

All I can say is "WOW!" What a treasure! Can't wait for you to share with us the finished quilt in all it's glory.
