Hexagon Inspiration is Everywhere!
Ever been to Friendy's in South Portland? Notice the hexagon patterned floor in the ladies room? Yes, I tried to take a photo, but every time I'm in the bathroom there are too many other ladies in there to take a good picture, but I'll keep trying.
Meanwhile, I've seen hexagon inspired flooring in bathrooms, kitchen, hospitals, restaurants and hotels. Here are a few photos to whet your appetite. Be sure to keep your eyes open as you never know when you will see your next hexie quilt layout!

Using Quilts on Furniture
Listen, many of you might not know, but I had cervical neck surgery to replace four disks and fusion on June 2nd. I've been living in the land of NO bending over, keeping my neck upright in a tight plastic cervical collar. At least I've stopping biting myself, lol!
Ever try to sew a hexie with it at eye level? Give it a try--it doesn't bode well. I can't even read or sewing on the machine. In other words, I had spent the last five weeks doing nothing but watch Netflix on my tablet propped up with a pillow. All this time and nothing to show for it!
But, alas, I was not one to follow Twitter, Facebook, etc. and when told about all the attributes of Pinterest, I just didn't have time. Well, I do now. Thanks (maybe not!) to fellow quilter Sue for introducing it to me. I'm so hooked now that I grab my tablet and check it out first thing in the morning before even getting out of bed. In a brief five weeks or so I have pinned 2,846 items to do with hexagons alone. Check me out under the name Kathleen Currier.
Speaking of that, I wanted to share with you a couple of ideas I found for those old cutter quilts or perhaps even a new project.
